The regattas of the future, the first for full foiling boats almost 7 metres in length: the Persico 69F circuit, launched in 2020, represents the beginning of a new era in competition sailing. An event fought out across a number of legs, which last year saw the triumph of the two FlyingNikka team boats, #47 helmed by Roberto Lacorte with crew members Enrico Zennaro and Lorenzo Bressani, and #74 with Alessio Razeto, Lorenzo De Felice and Andrea Fornaro, ready to defend their first and second places won in the first edition of the circuit.
A first edition dominated by the two FlyingNikka boats, which in the face of strong opposition, succeeded in making a permanent mark on the field. Now this year, forced to defend their leadership, conquered with acrobatic manoeuvres in full foil and peaks of breathtaking speed. And more.
“Our experience on the Persico 69F”, explains Alessio Razeto, “was very important to the initial conception phase of the new project and it still is today, because the contribution of those who really sail is key. Ours is a team of expert sailors who can transmit sensations and technical considerations that are fundamental when developing the new FlyingNikka”.
This year, the two FlyingNikka 69Fs will be involved at Malcesine (May), Porto Cervo (July), Torbole (September) and Puntaldia, in Sardinia (sept/Oct), four legs in the second edition of a circuit that promises to be even more thrilling and entertaining. The boats are identical, as are the two crews (Lacorte, Bressani and Zennaro; Razeto, De Felice and Fornaro). Their ambition is unfaltering and it will be this that once again will take them to the highest step on the podium.
