Persico 69F Cup: a triumph for the FlyingNikka team

Final victory belongs to Roberto Lacorte’s FlyingNikka team in the first edition of the Persico 69F Cup, the international circuit reserved for small flying monotypes.

Blue sails emblazoned with the Cetilar® brand, Lacorte at the helm, onboard with Lorenzo Bressani and Enrico Zennaro, FlyingNikka 47 closed classification in first place, followed by FlyingNikka 74, with green sails, and helmsman Alessio Razeto onboard with Lorenzo De Felice and Andrea Fornaro, coming in second place ahead of the Dutch crew, Kingdom Team Netherlands.

This exceptional double win achieved by the two boats, competing in the regatta for the Pisa Repubblica Marinara Yacht Club, who throughout the three Grand Prix that took place in 2020, always played a leading role. Seeing is believing: two victories (out of three) conquered by FlyingNikka 47.

“Concluding the Persico 69F circuit in first and second places fills us with pride and satisfactioncomments Roberto Lacortesespecially when we consider the skill levels of our opponents throughout the year. It is a result that stems from a clear, well-defined programme aimed at equally clear objectives. The first compliments go to my two fellow crew members, Lorenzo Bressani and Enrico Zennaro, champions with whom I have enjoyed unforgettable moments both in and out of sport. Then to Alessio Razeto, Lorenzo de Felice and Andrea Fornaro, the rest of the team that made life really difficult for us onboard the 74. Congratulations also go to the championship organisers and to those who came up with this brilliant idea of something really modern, in line with the direction being taken by sailing as it moves towards the third millennium”.

“The FlyingNikka guys – commented Dede De Luca, circuit Chief Sailing Officer –contributed straightaway to raising the level of the competition.  Trial after trial, we saw the circuit grow and the yachtsmen develop technically and improve their foiling skills, creating a virtuous circle of shared growth between the teams that led to a more enjoyable performance, and more intense competition.
